Tips to Make Your Move A Pleasant Experience ● When possible send pets and young children to friends or relatives on moving day. ● Begin packing as many days in advance as possible to make sure boxes are packed properly. Packing a few boxes a day is less stressful than trying to do them all at once. ● Label boxes on their sides to indicate where they will go at the destination - Master Bedroom, Family Room, Susan's Bedroom, Kitchen, etc. ● Unplug all devices possible - televisions, stereos, computers, microwaves, floor lamps, cable boxes, etc. ● Notify the post office to forward mail to your new address. ● In winter be sure to clear snow from outdoor tables, chairs, barbecue, and other outdoor items. ● If moving a propane barbecue, remove the propane tank. By law, movers may not load tanks in their van. ● Wrap all fragile items such as dishes, glasses, vases, Hummels, Lladeros, Waterford, figurines, etc. with bubble wrap or paper and label boxes Fragile. ● Get rid of unwanted items and furniture prior to moving day.
